The Center for Modern and Contemporary Art in Debrecen, Hungary, is staging a large-scale exhibition entitled “Messiahs” on the theme of redemption, taking a look at both religious and profane traditions. Among the works of art collected from around 70 European and American museums and galleries is the 1957 painting “White Terror in Hungary 1956 (Removal of a Lantern)” by Werner Tübke.
