From October 6, 2023, the Kunstforum Ostdeutsche Galerie Regensburg will be showing the exhibition We love Picasso. It shows the influence of Pablo Picasso on young German, Polish and Czech artists. Picasso’s work was particularly well received in the GDR in the 1950s. However, according to the opinion of the time, stylistics clashed with the socialist realism prescribed by the state, which is why the artists had to change their painting style as a result. The exhibition includes 7 works by Willi Sitte.
