The zinc lithograph “Resurrection” is an example of how Werner Tübke transforms different elements into a subjective visual language. This does not follow any iconographic standardization, but is always composed anew from various source references. The symbol of the Holy Spirit in the form of a flame, which originally appeared to the apostles at Pentecost, hovers above the ascending figure in the center. Thus, in the biblical sense, the preceding death, resurrection, ascension and completion of redemption all come together. The graphic from 1984 was published in an edition of 60.
