The exhibition “Art and the Cold War – German Positions 1945-1989” presents more than 300 paintings, sculptures and photographs by 120 artists, including Werner Tübke, Wolfgang Mattheuer, Fritz Cremer, Bernhard Heisig, Willi Sitte, Joseph Beuys, Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer and many more. 20 years after the end of the Cold War, this is the first comprehensive look back at art in divided Germany from 1945 until the fall of the Berlin Wall.
