Constellations III – Frankfurt Städel shows new acquisitions of modernism

1. June 2008

For the third time, the Städel Museum in Frankfurt am Main is showing donations and new acquisitions of works from the second half of the 20th century and the 21st century. Among them are two recently acquired paintings from the so-called Leipzig School from the early 1970s: Werner Tübke’s Self-Portrait with Palette and Colossus II by Wolfgang Mattheuer. The two works are now presented amidst around 50 artistic contributions from 23 important international artists such as Jonathan Meese, Daniel Richter and Yves Klein.
