Under the title STRANGE!, around 60 works by 40 artists from East and West are brought together, in which echoes of Surrealist art can be found – be it through motivic or stylistic quotations, be it through ideological similarities. All created during the Cold War, they bear witness to the unifying power of an art that resists the impositions of the prevailing “reality” with its works.
