21. November 2015

With this work, the young Fritz Cremer received the Grand State Prize for Art in 1936, which was awarded annually by the Prussian Academy of Arts. With this relief, Cremer protested against the ban on exhibiting Käthe Kollwitz and based the work on Kollwitz’s works in terms of style and motif. The exhibition shows the history of the Nationalgalerie’s collection during National Socialism.

Exhibition duration: November 21, 2015 – July 31, 2016
