Attends the evening academy at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig
1983-88
Studied painting and graphics at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig (under Dietrich Burger, Volker Stelzmann and Bernhard Heisig) Graduated as a painter and graphic artist
1988-91
Master student at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig under Prof. Bernhard Heisig
1993-98
Lecturer at the Institute for Art Education at the University of Leipzig
2011
Purchase of a painting by Gero Künzel by the Kulturstiftung Sachsen
lives and works in Hausdorf near Leipzig
