Johannes Grützke

Johannes Grützke did not shy away from holding up a mirror to himself and society. In his figurative paintings, he created a new form of history painting and became a chronicler of his time. He caricatured and exaggerated the figures he depicted. This small catalog shows his late work and is published on the occasion of the exhibition “Johannes Grützke – Gemälde” 07.02. – 15.04.2015 at Galerie Schwind in Frankfurt.
