Wolfgang Mattheuer

The catalog “Wolfgang Mattheuer – On Journeys. Drawings 1941 – 2002” is published on the occasion of the exhibitions of the same name at the Kunsthalle Rostock. The focus is on works on paper by Wolfgang Mattheuer (1927-2004) that have never been exhibited before – a discovery from the extensive artistic estate of the Leipzig painter. The majority of these works capture Mattheuer’s impressions from his numerous travels at home and abroad. An introductory text by curator Melanie Ohst places the travel drawings in the context of Wolfgang Mattheuer’s oeuvre.
