Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt. Drawings and poems

The catalog Voices. Drawings and poems provides a comprehensive insight into the work of the draughtswoman, illustrator and author Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt and is published in a large format and elaborately designed slipcase. Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt studied from 1948 at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig under professors Egon Pruggmayer, Elisabeth Voigt, Max Schwimmer and Walter Arnold. As a freelance illustrator, she was awarded numerous prizes for her book designs.

The catalog focuses on the portraits of famous German poets that Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt created, particularly in the 1970s. These are juxtaposed in the book with selected poems by the poets portrayed. But the catalog also provides insights into the extensive graphic and lyrical work of Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt.
