Michael Triegel

The zinc lithograph “Ave Maria” by Michael Triegel is the first large-format graphic by Michael Triegel. Inspired by a scene of the Annunciation carved in stone, Michael Triegel juxtaposes the figure of the Virgin Mary on the sheet with the vanitas symbols of the mummified cat and a collection of animal skulls. A few sheets are still available as “e. a.” dated and signed by Michael Triegel.
