For many decades, Rolf Händler (1938-2021) enriched painting in the German capital with his unique signature style; his paintings can be found in all major German museums, such as the Nationalgalerie Berlin, the Museum Barberini Potsdam and the Kunstsammlungen Dresden. Rolf Händler has now died in Berlin after a serious illness. He was 83 years old.

From November 5 to December 31, 2021, the Nogueira da Silva Museum in Braga (Portugal) is exhibiting works by Ana Monteiro under the title "The Myth of Sisyphus". Ana Monteiro's paintings are executed in the finest painting style. They are full of symbols, enigmatic images whose stories remain mysterious.

The Angermuseum in Erfurt is showing the exhibition The Art of Talking to Flowers Exhibition duration: 27.06.-17.10.2021.
The exhibition explores various facets of the significance of flowers in painting.
In addition to the work Begonias by Emil Nolde, the exhibition includes paintings by our artists: Leif Borges, Günther Blau, Ulrich Hachulla, Rolf Händler, Wolfgang Mattheuer and Michael Triegel.

From April 30 - October 31, 2021, the Bach Museum in Leipzig is showing the exhibition "Bach & Triegel. In dialog". On display are paintings, drawings and prints by the Leipzig artist, which enter into a dialog with compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach.

The Panorama Museum in Bad Frankenhausen is showing a cross-section of the artist's oeuvre in the exhibition "Frank Hauptvogel - In den Gärten" until June 6, 2021.

On March 13, 2021, the illustrator and author Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt died at the age of 94. As a freelance illustrator, she was awarded numerous prizes for her book designs. After the death of her husband Wolfgang Mattheuer (1927 - 2004), she founded the Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt and Wolfgang Mattheuer Foundation, which aims to preserve the artistic and literary work of Ursula Mattheuer-Neustädt and Wolfgang Mattheuer, to accompany it academically and to present it to the public. Willi Sitte would have been 100 years old on February 28, 2021. Various reports and articles look back on his life and work to mark this anniversary. The film "Between Baroque and State Power - The Painter Willi Sitte", which was broadcast on the occasion of the birthday, is available in the ARD media library. We visited our artist Sten Gutglück in his studio. In the video, we are allowed to look over his shoulder as he creates his latest work. We learn a lot about his paintings, his still lifes and his sometimes melancholy landscape and figure paintings.
